I took both billets down to a single ring. One turned out thinner than the other. I decided to make a bow from each billet, so I cut both of them lengthwise. One turned out about 3/4-1" wide. I'll make a kids bow from that. One is 1 1/4 - 1 1/2" and will make a man's bow. I tried a z splice on the little bow by stacking the billets together and cutting. It was a mess even after boiling and clamping to dry. I cut that off and used a double fishtail pattern which worked very well. I made 2 four inch patterns; one 3/4" wide and one 1" wide. Much better fit than the Z. I will epoxy the big splice and use Elmer's carpenter glue on the little one. I have to warm the glue since my garage is so cold.
